How long do you think it took for your family to get back to normal when Michael returned home?

Good question! Honestly, I think that we are still working on things. It was a big adjustment for both of us along with the children. Michael and I decided to be proactive with our marriage and go to counseling from the get go. We learned how to talk to each other again. Michael was use to giving orders and in a marriage that tends to not work so well. We went once a week for several months upon his return.

For about six months Marilyn and Tommy would cry any time Michael left because they were very worried he had to leave again. We just keep working through things. Having a few trusted friends pray and support us helped with the adjustment as well.
