My brother just started his fourth stint in rehab for substance abuse. The only difference this time is that he now has a wife and newborn son at home who are anxiously awaiting a completely changes husband and dad when he gets home. I wish I could say that I was sure this time will work but I just can't. Too many lies and too much disappointment have just completely wiped away our family's hope in him. I would just like to ask for prayers for my brother, his wife and son, my parents and for me. My fervent prayer for my brother has remained the same throughout his battle with alcohol---that he really lets the Lord in and begins to seek Him in all things. I also pray he comes to love himself again. I pray that my parents finally come to accept that he has this problem and that they are able to truly forgive (both him and themselves and each other) and unconditionally love him throughout this struggle. I pray that my heart will be softened towards him and that I learn to trust my brother again. I also pray for God to put the right words on my heart in helping my parents deal and heal with this situation. Thank you so much for your prayers as well!
